We are committed to environmental conservation and strive to minimize the negative impacts of our operations by promoting best practices among our clients and partners. Our dedication extends to supporting local communities, ensuring that our journeys contribute positively to their social and economic well-being. With a focus on ethical practices and ongoing improvement, we aim to foster meaningful connections and uphold the highest standards of sustainability in all that we do.

Scope

We are committed to operating responsibly and contributing to the sustainable development of tourism in Brazil. Our actions focus on reducing social, environmental, and cultural negative impacts while promoting economic and social benefits for local communities.

Sustainability Management & Legal Compliance

The top management at AAA Bahia fully supports our sustainability policy. We comply with all local, regional, national, and international legislation and are committed to continuously improving our practices. We will use platforms such as Travelife to monitor and report our sustainability progress, reviewing our actions every two years.

Internal Management: Social Policies & Human Rights

We recognize that our employees are fundamental to the success of our operations. Therefore, we ensure:

  • Safe and healthy working conditions, with fair remuneration.
  • Inclusion and equal opportunities for all, regardless of gender, race, age, religion, or sexual orientation.

Internal Management: Environment

  • Promoting the use of digital documents to reduce paper waste.
  • Encouraging the use of public transport or low-emission options by employees and customers.

Suppliers and Partners

We select suppliers who share our commitment to sustainability and require:

  • Compliance with labor, human rights, and environmental laws.
  • Adoption of practices that minimize environmental impact and promote the social development of communities.
  • Prohibition of child exploitation and respect for women’s and workers' rights.
  • Adherence to our Code of Ethics, with specific clauses to protect children from sexual exploitation in tourism.

Transport

We are committed to using the most sustainable transportation options available, prioritizing land transport over air whenever possible and encouraging the use of bicycles and public transport.

Accommodation and Activities

At AAA Bahia, we prioritize sustainability across all facets of our operations. Our commitment extends to give preference to accommodations that align with sustainable practices, respecting the local architecture, culture, and traditions inherent to each destination. By promoting activities that benefit communities and respect animal welfare, we champion initiatives that support environmental protection while ensuring no harm comes to nature or local communities.

In keeping with our dedication to minimizing environmental impact, we consciously refrain from offering excursions and attractions involving captive wildlife unless they are strictly regulated and compliant with local, national, and international laws. For any wildlife interactions, we adhere to relevant codes of conduct to safeguard these species. Furthermore, we actively strive to minimize disruption to natural ecosystems during our activities, reinforcing our commitment to a sustainable future.

Destinations

We prioritize working in destinations that have embraced sustainable development as part of their policies. We promote alternative destinations to reduce over-tourism and ensure respect for human and environmental rights.

Customer Communication & Protection

We ensure that customers are informed about the social and environmental impact of their trips and offer sustainable alternatives for accommodation, transport, and activities. Our commitment includes:

  • Protecting customer privacy and data.
  • Avoiding greenwashing and ensuring that our sustainability claims are authentic and verifiable.

We are committed to ensuring that all our marketing and advertising materials, statements, and other publications present accurate, honest, and complete information. Our employees are fully informed of this commitment, and we guarantee that everything we offer is delivered to our customers seamlessly.

Monitoring and Review

This policy will be reviewed annually to ensure we continue to progress toward our sustainability goals. The entire team is responsible for implementing and promoting this policy, led by our Sustainability Coordinator.

Effective Date

This policy will take effect in October 2024 and will be reviewed periodically
